The Standard Retail Business Model is Dying - But the Online Models Are Storming!
The best Direct MarketerAn individual, who is performing marketing tasks. In popular usage, "marketing" is the promotion of products, especially advertising and branding. in the UK, Andrew Reynolds says that the traditional retail model is dead. Partly, he's right it is dying and you can do things a lot more easily and profitably.
Andrew rightly argues that when you have a shop you open up at set times and close at set times and literally sit there and wait for customers to walk in: if they don't walk in your finished. You have massive overheads and you're tied to the business: if you do not open up there's no income and the financial RISK is MASSIVE.
So Andrew argues you need a business model that is different i.e.
* Low overheads (virtually none)
* No requirement for you to be operating the business at a set time
* Highly profitable
* No stock losses due to theft
* The ability to reach all your previous customersA customer is someone who makes use of the paid products of an individual or organization. This is typically through purchasing or renting goods or services. to create CASH ON DEMAND
Many people are enjoying a stellar lifestyle working minimal hours on the net ( working 2-3 hours a week and making massive incomes: I know I've actually met someone who earns AUD$60,000+ a month).
The guy I met, has a 10 metre commute to his back garden (when he wants) and until recently he worked 2-3 hours a week. He's now gone workaholic and works 8-9 hours a week (and his income has soared)! The guy has the money and free time in which to spend it: in short he has complete freedom of time, he doesn't need to be anywhere at a set time unless he wants to be there. He also has complete locational freedom: his businessThe production/distribution of goods or services for profit. Such activity can be carried out by an individual, a family, a partnership, or an incorporated company. is not tied to a set location and his overheads are minimal.
We all could be RUNNING OUR OWN BUSINESSES FROM ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, and many PEOPLE DO!
They have...
* NO BOSSES
* MASSIVE POTENTIAL INCOME
* NO LOCATIONAL CONSTRAINT
* NO TIME CONSTRAINT
* LOW WEEKLY HOURS
* NO COMMUTE
* LITTLE TO NO CAPITAL REQUIRED!
So the burning question is why isn't everybody on the bandwagon: Is it lack of knowledge?
Well most of the knowledge required is out there for free on the net and it's fairly easy to implement.
Is lack of capital? Well not much capital is needed (the price of a DomainDomain name - the name that indentifies a web site (e.g., company.com). Also referred to as a URL. name USD$9.99 maybe): it's probably better to start with little capital to prevent any costly mistakes early on i.e. failed Google Adwords campaigns.
Is the problem lack of time? Well it does require about 4 hours per week to get going, I think most people could manage that amount.
It seems the real problem is commitment: the bandwagon is there and people for some reason don't get on?
